In this structured writing and study session, we'll each pick a task and focus uninterrupted in 25-minute bursts, followed by a five minute break. After three 25-minute pomodoros we'll take a longer break. Join us to try out this proven technique for managing time effectively and getting things done.
Creative Writing GroupMonday
1pm - 2pm
Come exercise your creative writing skills in a supportive workshopping environment. We'll share a prompt or two, write for 20-30 minutes together, then talk about what we wrote.

In this discussion and support session, we'll make space for the uncertainty folks may be feeling about their prospects post-graduation in an unstable and unpredictable national landscape where funding and jobs are being lost. This conversation may center those planning careers in science and environmental fields, but all graduate students are welcome to attend. 

Guests will include Dr. David Patrick, Dean of the Graduate School and Vice Provost for Research; Dr. Nikki Cassidy, Psychologist, Counseling & Wellness Services; and Morgan Freed, Associate Director, Career Services. Refreshments provided. 
LinkedIn Tips for Graduate StudentsThursday

LinkedIn Tips for Graduate Students is a presentation designed to introduce graduate students to LinkedIn as a additional tool to market themselves for employers and stay connected.

Over the course of 60 minutes, participants will cover the following topics:

  • Develop a LinkedIn profile to communicate your value to potential employers.
  • Learn how to find people to connect with, engage and how to reach out to new contacts.

By the end of this workshop, participants will know the tools to create stronger, more effective LinkedIn presence that helps them advance their career and make meaningful connections.
