How to Use the Guides

Click the title of the guide you want to see to display it. Graduate Students are welcome to use our BoxLight interactive display whenever it is not being used by others.

  1. Click on the gray arrow on the left side of the display.
  2. Click on "Note" in the center of the panel that appears. This will open the whiteboard app.
  3. Click "No" if asked about loading the last unsaved file, unless you are trying to restore a recent session.
  4. You can now use the stylus to draw. 

You can also click on "theme" in the menu to change the background to an image, color, or template. 


To change from one pen mode to two pen mode, click on the "Single" option at the bottom of the screen.

  1. Click on the gray arrow on the left side of the display.
  2. Click on the "All Apps" button.
  3. In the grid that appears, click "Firefox". If you don't see it, swipe left or right to view other pages.
  4. From here, you can browse the web as you normally would in any other browser.

A touch keyboard will appear when you select text fields. Touch the screen with your hand or a stylus to move the cursor.

  1. Connect to the WWU Wireless-Secure network on the device you want to cast.
  2. Click on the gray arrow on the left side of the display.
  3. Click "Home".
  4. At the top of the screen, click on the small grey cast icon. A password will appear, along with the device name and network name.
  5. On your device, open your screencast settings.
    • For Mac, go to control center, then screen mirroring.
    • For PC, go to settings > system > display, and click the connect button next to "Connect to a wireless display".
  6. Select Grad Hub display from the available devices. Enter the password when prompted.
  7. Click accept on the Hub display. You should now be casting to the display!

You can also use an HDMI cord to connect a laptop to the display, using the ports on the front of the screen. Use the input option on the home screen or the side menu to switch to the connected device.

  1. Click on the gray arrow on the left side of the display.
  2. Click on the "All Apps" button.
  3. Select the app you want to use.

Don't forget to sign out of any apps you signed into before you leave!
